Let’s Meet Up!
I was interested to read the results of a poll published on Recruitment Grapevine this week, with results showing that 47% of candidates would prefer to meet a recruiter in person for an initial meeting. I found this really reassuring, because a face to face meeting really is the best way to get a true understanding of a candidate; their skills, successes and achievements; their motivations and drivers; their career aspirations. It is crucial to know all this in order to be able to properly represent a candidate and to ensure I can provide my clients with applicants who meet their brief.
At Direct Recruitment, we've always met all our candidates face to face as it's such an important part of the process. Talking to a client recently highlighted the value of this; she said I have every confidence you will send me candidates who can do the job. There won't be a never ending list of CVs pulled from a database, but a niche pool who are well motivated and with the skills and aspirations you are looking for.
And another reason I feel face to face interviews are so important - it's one of my favourite parts of the job!
