Data Strategy Director – 3 Month Contract

We’re looking for an experienced Data Strategy Director to step into a high-profile, fast-moving environment at a leading marketing agency.


You will lead the strategic direction of CRM and customer data across a major consumer programme.


This is a hands-on leadership contract for someone who can balance strategic thinking with operational excellence - guiding a talented team while partnering closely with senior stakeholders to shape how customer data drives engagement and performance.


The Opportunity


You’ll act as the senior data marketing lead, responsible for steering data strategy, improving campaign effectiveness for a key client.

You’ll be instrumental in evolving segmentation, measurement frameworks, and customer journey design, while embedding a strong test-and-learn culture.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own and evolve the CRM data strategy for a key client

  • Lead and develop a team of Data Planners and Analysts

  • Oversee end-to-end data delivery across CRM campaigns

  • Design and deliver strategic initiatives including segmentation frameworks and measurement models

  • Translate complex analytics into clear, commercial recommendations

  • Act as a senior advisor to stakeholders, influencing direction and driving innovation

  • Partner with cross-functional teams

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in data strategy within a marketing or data / CRM agency with some at director level

  • Strong background in large-scale, high-volume CRM programmes

  • Experience leading and mentoring data teams

  • Deep understanding of segmentation, customer journeys, analytics and performance measurement

  • Confident communicator, comfortable influencing at senior level


This is an initial 3 month contract and is based in a London marketing agency offering hybrid working 2 days a week minimum per week in the London office.

This is approx £450 to £500
